Animal Life - Cow Appreciation Day


Apparently this day was started by Chick-Fil-A, and while I don't support them, I do support cows.

And yes, I ate beef last night for dinner....

But they're so much more than just food - look at how sweet and happy they are!  They are very social creatures who create tight bonds.  They also play a role in a sustainable environment by preventing the spread of noxious weeds and maintaining the health of grasslands.

Supporting small-scale family farms strengthens local economies and ensures cows get the care and respect they deserve.

Whenever we pass open range, I always moo to say hello.


I met a Highland cow in Alaska named Seamus, and I miss him.


BEEF is also something my best friend and I came up with in high school - best ever everly friends!  So I have a cow necklace she made and I made her a cow apron.  :-D

Love the cows.

  Othram is a company providing forensics technology for cold case work. "Justice is not a luxury; it is a basic human right." In 1997, rock climbers in rural Washoe County found human remains buried under stones in a shallow grave.  While cause of death could not be determined, it was ruled a homicide. Investigators entered her information, including a forensic facial reconstruction, into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System but no leads yielded a match. Earlier this week, with Othram's help, Washoe County was able to identify Lorena Gayle Mosley, who was 41 at the time of her death.   Scientists were able to develop a DNA extract to be used in genome sequencing, building a comprehensive profile for the victim.  Their in-house genetic genealogy team was then able to develop investigative leads that were returned to Washoe County.
