My Shots - Cosmos in the Desert

Image
We had a great spot for camping at Lahontan. The event was put on by Friends of Nevada Wilderness, Nevada State Parks, and the Nevada Division of Outdoor Recreation. The day had some booths set up, but most people came out for the night - there was a band on that stage there, and all red lights only. Down the lakeside they had telescopes set up, but my night sight didn't catch that so well. The stars came out alright though. Tent View And the pups.

My Shots - Not Lost, Exploring

Image
This is the very hot source of Paradise Valley Spring.  It appears to have dissolved a bit of the rock around it, here's from the other side. There was a pool set up but another couple was hanging out, so we decided to head back towards Kyle Hot Springs, where we enjoyed a lovely soak. But there were several people here too, so we decided to move along.  We chatted with a couple who had the "I'm not lost, I'm exploring" sticker that we identify STRONGLY with. Camping at Rye Patch.

My Shots - Labor Day Weekend

Image
Saturday we just took a drive to escape the rain - Deus had mentioned Hwy 4 so we ended up taking Ebbett's Pass.  And it was a hell of a road, as he warned. We stopped at the above Everly Falls.  We turned off for Highland Lakes, and found a decent spot or two for forest camping along the North Fork Mokelumne River. But we decided to stay on and follow the pass down to Angel's Camp, though we had some regret as we entered the humidity of the valley.  We went back towards Jackson and up 88. Back in town we decided to give the desert a try, maybe even run into some burners.  But we had the space all to ourselves for a camp night. A Monday swim for the pups.
