Comet NEOWISE
A locally taken photo shared by our KOLO News.

It should be visible through the 13th in the early evening sky.  It will be back around on the 22-23 of this month on its closest approach to Earth.

Representation of July 23 looking northwest.

The comet is about 3 miles across and was just discovered this March by NASA's Near Earth Object Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (NEOWISE).  It rounded the sun in the beginning of this month and was photographed by astronaut Bob Behnken on the ISS.

We're not expected to see this one again until the year 8786, give or take.
