My Shots - In Honor of Burning Man

Today would be Tutu Tuesday out on the playa, but there is no Burning Man this year, everything's been cancelled.  There will be a Burn Night though - live from home on September 5.

I've posted a small throwback to 2018 Here so this time I'm pulling from our first trip in 2011.

Road to the Man.

The pier.

The Temple.

Slip n' Slide at the Duck Pond!

My camera was not very good with night shots...

"Use the door!"

Thunderdome on Bunny Night.

The Lamplighters.

The Burning Man community is doing a lot to try and help the small town of Gerlach - they rely on Burning Man travelers to make money, and without them coming through, on top of Coronavirus losses, they'll be hurting this year.

Anyone who tells you this is just a hippie drug party in the desert, you can be sure they've never been.  It's also not like a Coachella festival - it's an event that asks you to participate rather than just walk through, for the fun and the work.  You can volunteer to help the Lamplighters, the Post Office, or be on a clean up crew any day of the week.  It's a life changing experience, and I absolutely mean that.

Live Love Burn.
