A Google a Day

I didn't have a topic in mind for today so I turned to Google - no doodles, so I went to the search bar and clicked, "I'm feeling puzzled."

What pops up is the premise of a game.  Google asks the question, "An 11 foot bird lives less than two miles from 30.891383,-102.885032.  What's his name?"

So you Google search the coordinates and find Fort Stockton, Texas.

And there they have Paisano Pete, the town's mascot and one time record holder of World's Largest Roadrunner.

"World's Largest" is a common theme among roadside attractions in the United States.

Such as:

This ball of twine in Cawker City, Kansas

A garden gnome in Kerhonkson, New York

Fish statue outside of the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in Hayward, WI

Not the largest boots, but the largest matched set of cowboy wear, in Seattle, WA.

Originally built as part of a Western themed gas station in the 1950's, once the building was abandoned, the towns people got together to save the pieces they had grown so fond of.

What are some strange and/or oversized things you've seen on the road?
