Music Tasting 1
Every week a friend and I take turns picking a band to listen to - something new or something old, but an album we haven't listened to before.
This week we listened to The Brobecks - Violent Things. (2009)
Fronted and founded by Dallon Weekes, who also performed with Panic! At The Disco, the band began in 2002. Their first album, Understanding the Brobecks, came out in 2003.
The band toured with big names such as Fall Out Boy and The Bravery, but remained independent and unsigned.
Violent Things immediately reminded me of Franz Ferdinand, and had all the best aspects of early 2000's rock. It's a pretty solid album all the way through, but if I had to pick a favorite, I'd say "Le Velo Pour Deux."
