Animal Life - Big Red

 

Meet Mama Bird!  She and Arthur have been mates since 2018, after her previous beau Ezra died.

Since 2012, she has laid three eggs, but this year she has four.  They usually start hatching around April 22nd, so I wanted to get introductions in before the chicks.

Their nest is located on an athletic field at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.

I have a cousin attending the Lab of Ornithology there, coincidentally enough.
