Fashion - Maison de Mode
On the heels of Earth Day, Maison de Mode held the 5th Annual Sustainable Style Awards.
The house itself is home to various brands, operating as a platform for sustainable fashion, "connecting creators, curators and consumers for a better tomorrow."
Founders are Amanda Hearst, Hassan Pierre, and Carmen Busquets.
Sustainable Style Honoree, Carolyn Murphy
This model-turned-designer released the 100% sustainable "Homegrown Collection" through her Mother Denim brand.
Impact Award Honoree, Aurora James
The founder of Brother Vellies launched the nonprofit organization, Fifteen Percent Pledge. The initiative calls for major retailers to dedicate a minimum 15% of shelf space to Black-owned business. Sephora was the first major corporation to pledge.

Created by Project Runway designer Sebastian Grey, using upcycled leather.
Many guests were noted to have gone thrifting for the event.
