The Katmai bears have gone into hibernation after fattening up on salmon, which we missed this year, my apologies. But I found a tundra cam with a polar bear chillin'.

I'm at a loss for today.   Moments in history that led to dictatorship and Civil War, not boding well. But this was just a random picture I posted 5 years ago. "When a problem comes along, you must whip it." So yeah.

This is what I plan on starting today, and I thought it might be fun to make it a read-along.  I was waiting for November as it seems to be a fall into winter kind of setting. We'll be going with Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont's 1756 version, which greatly condenses Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve's original 1740 novel. Online Source Beaumont reduced the cast of characters, and there is less detail of Beauty's exploration of the castle.  Villeneuve also devotes a large part of the story to the fairies, Good and Evil.  The Disney movie takes a bit from both, as well as some ideas from a 1946 French film. It remains my favorite Disney movie.

So that's Blake Lively. Greta Lee Colman Domingo Mikey Madison Chloe Sevigny Eiza Gonzalez Kaia Gerber Viola Davis Angelina Kendall Malcolm Washington

Some local artists put together a Haunted Mini Golf! My friend's fireplace. And the pumpkins we made at my sister's house. Of course, I also have to mention Nevada Day.  ^_^ Open Thread as I'll be off tomorrow!!

On this day in 1938, Orson Welles terrified the public with his dramatization of The War of the Worlds. It was Sunday evening, prime time in the golden age of radio, and millions of Americans were listening in.  But many missed the introduction. Welles employed sophisticated sound effects as well as top notch actors - it's really no wonder people mistook the tale as an actual report.  As "Martian cylinders" landed in Chicago and St. Louis, real life panic was setting in. Welles was just 23 at the time, and the broadcast helped him land a Hollywood contract. Happy Halloween Eve!

A friend's dog had puppies about 5 months ago, so we picked one up over the weekend. He's a Golden Retriever and Alaskan Klee Kai mix. He's definitely watching Mighty and learning the ropes. Home Sweet Home
