Science is Fun Fridays!
April is a time to celebrate the power of community involvement in environmental conservation and research.
I came across a local project mentioning this and then found an online source for studies to participate in.
The UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center is asking anyone who visits the lake to report on critical conditions, such as litter, cloudy water, aquatic invasive species sightings, and particularly the presence or absence of algae along the shoreline.
Algae reports will be utilized by TERC researchers who are studying the distribution and seasonal variation of algal blooms.
