Frank Lopes Jr lived in his car in Sacramento for a time, which is where he came up with his stage name, and his debut album was named after his 94 Toyota Corolla.

Hobo Johnson and the Lovemakers released a video for "Peach Scone" as an entry for NPR's Tiny Desk Contest in 2018 - they didn't win, but the video received a lot of hits.  The Rise of Hobo Johnson, released in 2017, charted at #11 afterwards.

And now on their third album, The Fall of Hobo Johnson, released September of this year.
