Book Club - Holiday Read Along

Every year NPR asks a writer to compose a Christmas story and it appears it has been common practice for a writer to be asked of such a thing.  In 1898, the Peterburgskaya Gazeta asked Anton Chekhov to write a Christmas story as well, called At Christmas Time.

The NPR one is from 2009, and is a reinvention/expansion of Hans Christian Anderson's The Little Match Girl.

Gregory Maguire is best known for Wicked, his 1995 book which became a Broadway hit.

Here you can read as well as listen to Matchless: A Christmas Story.

We'll touch base next week and maybe start another one - my plan is to finish off with a New Year oriented piece.

Holiday Cheers!!
